Irreversible temperature indicator labels and stickers, Swiss-made

Temperature Indicator Labels & Stickers

Reatec temperature indicator labels and stickers are self-adhesive indicators that can be attached to any surface to reliably indicate when a specific temperature threshold has been exceeded. They contain up to ten indicator points, are resistant to water, oils and solvents, and their irreversible indicators make sure readings remain permanently visible. Their resilience and robustness make them ideal for use in shipping and logistics.

When should I be choosing a single and when a multi-level temperature indicator label?

The choice between a single and multi-level temperature indicator label comes down to whether you just need to make sure that a certain temperature threshold has been crossed or if you also need to verify that it has not exceeded it by a wider margin. In case you just need to check for a threshold, a single-point temperature indicator label or sticker directly set on your target temperature is enough. Should you also need to measure the bracket around your temperature for safety or other reasons, you should pick a multi-level label with your target temperature near the middle of the indicator range. Depending on the size of the bracket you can choose between five, six, eight or ten indicator points.

How do you apply and read a temperature indicator sticker correctly?

It is very important to directly apply the temperature indicator sticker to the exact object and spot where you want to measure the temperature, since it only measures the direct surface the indicator comes into contact with. The surface should be clean and dry to ensure optimal adhesion and the full adhesive backing should be connected to the surface to be measured. Once your process is complete, simply check which or if any of the indicator points on the sticker have changed from light gray to black. A solid black indicator point means the corresponding temperature threshold has been reached.

How do I safely remove a used temperature indicator label in a way that preserves the reading?

Depending on the surface on which the indicator is placed, you can either use a surface-safe scraper tool or simply remove it by hand if possible. The indicators are robust and the reading should survive the removal without issue. For a safe removal, please make sure the surface has cooled down before you peel off the indicator. Any remaining glue can be removed with isopropyl alcohol.
