2. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Reatec AG (“we”, “us”) processes personal data in connection with our website reatec.ch. We process personal data in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP / revDSG).
3. Personal data we collect and why
● Server log data: When you visit our website, our hosting infrastructure automatically records technical information (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, browser type, pages accessed). This is required for the secure and stable operation of the website.
● Inquiry and quote form data: When you submit a request through one of our contact or request-a-quote forms, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, and company details — in order to process and respond to your request.
● Newsletter data: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address in order to send you the newsletter until you unsubscribe.
● Analytics data: We intend to use web analytics to understand how our website is used (see Section 5).
4. Basis of processing
● Website operation / server logs: our legitimate interest in a secure and functional website.
● Inquiry and quote forms: processing is necessary to respond to your request and to take steps prior to entering into a business relationship.
● Newsletter: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
● Analytics: your consent, obtained via our cookie banner.
5. Service providers and third parties
We use the following service providers, who process personal data on our behalf or in connection with our website:
● Hosting and email — Hetzner: server infrastructure and email accounts. Servers located in the EU.
● Website platform — Shopify: operation of the online catalogue and forms.
● Request-a-quote function — Storeify: processing of quote and inquiry submissions made through our request-a-quote form.
● Web analytics — Google Analytics: analysis of website usage.
● Newsletter (planned) — HubSpot: intended service provider for newsletter dispatch.
6. Transfers abroad
Some of our service providers (in particular Shopify, Google and, where applicable, HubSpot) may process data outside Switzerland, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred to a country without an adequate level of data protection, we ensure that appropriate safeguards — such as the applicable standard contractual clauses — are in place.
7. Retention
● Inquiry and quote data: retained for as long as necessary to process your request and, where a business relationship arises, in accordance with statutory retention obligations (generally up to ten years under Swiss commercial law).
● Newsletter data: retained until you unsubscribe.
● Server log data: retained only for a short period for security and troubleshooting purposes, then deleted or anonymized.
8. Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you (access), to have inaccurate data corrected (rectification), to have your data deleted (erasure), to request restriction of processing, to receive your data in a portable format (data portability), and to object to certain processing. 9. Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe that our processing of your personal data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / EDÖB).
10. Cookies and consent
Our website uses cookies that are technically necessary for its operation. Cookies that are not strictly necessary — in particular for web analytics — are only set with your prior consent, which you can give or decline via our cookie banner and withdraw at any time.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version currently published on reatec.ch applies.
