Irreversible high-temperature indicators for extreme heat monitoring

Extreme Heat Temperature Indicators

The reaHeat high temperature indicators are self-adhesive irreversible temperature indicators that cover ranges between 250 °C and 450 °C, permanently changing color once the displayed temperature threshold on the individual indicator point is reached. Far exceeding the range of most temperature indicators and based on a robust aluminum strip, they are a high-performing solution for when standard indicators fail, for example due to material constraints under high heat. Therefore, they are ideal for use in heat treatment, industrial ovens and general monitoring of abnormal heat.

How does the reaHeat color change mechanism work?

Unlike the rest of our indicators, reaHeat 4 professional uses differently colored indicator fields depending on the corresponding temperature threshold. Since the color change indicating a crossed threshold varies from color to color, the attached table can help ensure a correct reading.

The G-1 indicators cover the range between 250 and 330 °C and their color change up to 500 °C is shown above. The G-2 indicators cover 360 to 450 °C and are shown below.

When do I need a high temperature indicator instead of a standard one?

If you want to measure temperatures above 250 °C, since most commonly used temperature indicators only cover temperatures up to that point. The Reatec standard range covers only up to 264 °C, and only the extra durable, aluminum-based reaHeat 4 indicators still deliver accurate readings above those temperatures. Most commonly used in metalworking and industrial ovens, they persist where other indicators fail.
